I brought this Optisan EVR ED 10×34 to West Papua for 18 days while guiding some guests from Europe this July 2025. Our trip was to explore the dark under-canopy primary rainforest (both low and high land of Vogelkop area), grassland beside Lake Sentani, mangrove, and a small patch of mudflat area in Sorong and Rajaampat, and to seek some sea birds on the ferry to Rajaampat.

I found that this binocular works perfectly as it should. We experienced the heat, high humidity, rains, fogs, sea water splash, and dark under canopy bird hide, but this excellent prism of the EVR ED 8×34 can help me to identify the birds nicely. It shows the beautiful color of Papuan pitta, Ashy robin, Chestnut jewel babbler, Common paradise kingfisher, Western parotia, Vogelkop lophorina, Magnificent bird of paradise plumage, brightly!!!

The lightweight made my neck safe from soreness. It is also very easy and firm to grab when needed immediately. I feel so free to use other tools in order to help point the birds to my guests or take pictures with my camera.

Really recommend the bins for those who dream about a very good prism quality, waterproof, long-lasting (the lifetime warranty is so great), lightweight, and cheap in price. Happy birding, guys!
